THE MASTER OF MYSTERY EXPOSES A GENIUS OF CRIME!

Three men are convicted of bank robbery, the main evidence against them being that their fingerprints were found at the scene. However, Charlie Chan believes them to be innocent, and his investigation reveals that they are indeed innocent and that their fingerprints were forged and planted in the prison files to frame them. Charlie sets out to uncover the real bank robbers.

Enjoy all of the Charlie Chan movies. I must have 20 to 30
which I used to watch with my wife. Haven't seen many after she passed. Glad I found archive.org.

Subject: Not the best Chan flick ever made...
...but I am a sucker for Chinese characters played by actors of European descent.

Mantan Moreland did a fine job with worn out material.

3 stars.

Rochester just ruined this film. Normally I enjoy Charlie Chan but this had to be his worst.

Subject: Good movie - bad video
The movie itself is lots of Charlie Chan fun. Mantan Moreland is at his all-time best. It was people like him that paved the way for lots of other good actors.

However these videos are junk. The uploader could have taken the time to do better than this. A quick search on google turns up many "good" copies of this movie for free. I suggest you download a better copy somewhere else and don't waste your time here.

I also suggest that if history is "painful" for anyone to watch they should just stick to todays politically correct garbage and not watch anything here.

Subject: Starring Mantan Moreland
Mantan Moreland (as Chan's driver/butler) gets almost as much screen time as Chan does. Part of it is the stereotypical frightened Negro shtick which is painful to watch but the interrupted conversation routine he does with another black actor is rather amusing.

Moreland is the best part of this movie. Certainly not Warner Oland's attempt at a Chinese accent. Chan's aphorisms are particularly lame here.

If you want to see another pretty good Moreland film catch "King of the Zombies" which I believe is also here onteh archive.
